Oh Yummy

Lunch time draft beer is so nice…

Southern Tier Cuvee Series #3

Oh my! That really is the best explanation available. But allow me to try and expand on that thought….

Dark amber in color, minimal head when poured from draft into a tulip. Having a tough time with the nose thanks to a sinus infection, but man does it hit the palette upon first sip. The oak explodes in your mouth. This is clearly an oak-aged beer. A very delicate balance of malt and hops… maple-syrup rich sweetness, abundant sweet, carefully woven with hops which are pushing through the malt screaming to be recognized with expansive pine nuts. I don’t know how they managed to get oak, syrup, and pine into a single sip, but wowsers. The finish is long… a thick cream-like coating on the tongue lasts and lasts as the pine becomes more pronounced then slowly fades.

5 solid mugs to the Cuvee #3.  Bravo Southern Tier, bravo.
